Blue Moon Hotel, Miami Beach

Blue Moon Exterior Daytime Entry

Miami, a beach paradise known for indulgent nightlife, a fabulous culinary scene and heavenly climate, attracts tourists from all over the globe.  It’s a place to indulge your every desire, an often exhausting task in this hedonistic destination, so finding the perfect hotel to retreat from all the play is an important decision.

Blue Moon Lobby

The Blue Moon Hotel tucked away on Collins Avenue a block from the beach and newly renovated, offers the perfect balanced vacation experience. Beautiful palm trees line the entrance and the lobby is open and airy with a majestic royal blue carpet anchoring plush white sofas that invite repose.  Immediate feelings of tranquility take over once you visually digest the palate of cool earth tones throughout the rest of the public spaces. A cascading waterfall flows by the pool, an intimate setting with an alfresco café that’s perfect for catching up on emails while perfecting your tan.  But just remind yourself that you’re here to relax so take ten and shut off the smart phone for a few minutes!

Blue Moon Exterior Daytime Patio

The guest rooms follow the same aesthetic.   Water themed blue accents against pure white walls and linens continue to set your mood to relaxation mode. Soothing classical music plays on an iPod dock when you first greet your new nest. The free and extremely fast WIFI will surprise you and get you excited to plan your evening which should absolutely include a stop by the FIX, the hotel’s new restaurant by Chef David Welch.  The popularity of the craft/artisan movement shaped his menu.  Welch incorporates local ingredients into his dishes showcasing the amazing diversity of South Florida through its cuisine.  The “must tries” include the Barbecue Kurobota Pork Belly Sandwich, Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho, Fish Tacos (of course) and the Root Vegetable Crusted Black Grouper.  The cocktails follow the same “farm-to-bar” method; the most amazing Blueberry Mojito in South Beach will have you running for seconds.

Blue Moon King Room

The Blue Moon Hotel is actually a composite of two former hotels- the Lafayette and Les suites. It was restored and reopened in August of 2012.  As a partner of Marriott International’s celebrated Autograph Collection, this boutique property has a modest 75 rooms.  Whether you’re planning a short weekend or a lengthier stay, this impressive lodging will surprise you in all the right ways.
