Here’s a package for you: the “Sip and Supper” Wine Education. The journey begins with a 90 minute winemaker-lead education (and tasting, obviously) of rare wines. Each winemaker will feature his own fine wines and share his passions and personal philosophies with you.
After this, move on to the historic and restored Pullman dining car, around since 1915, and indulge in a fabulous four course meal. The food is fresh, locally sourced and complements the wine. All throughout, the big picture windows of the Napa valley wine tours train frame the rolling landscape. The train passes through Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford and St. Helena, running through the heart of the most famous wine regions. The track was originally constructed in 1860, and much of it still remains unchanged today.
The Napa valley wine tours train departs at 6:30 pm from the McKinstry Street Station in Napa traveling north towards St. Helena and traverses 36 miles of picturesque landscapes for three hours. The sun will set over the vineyards at around eight, painting your window view with gorgeous hues. At 9:30 you return to the station.
The event only runs five times, so pay close attention. It’s once a month, usually on the second Thursday: June 14, July 12, August 16, September 13, and November 11.
