From Milan to Miami: Dolce & Gabbana’s Fantastical World Lands at ICA Miami

Instagram

If your idea of a perfect escape blends high fashion, art, and a bit of Italian daydreaming, you’ll want to mark your 2026 calendar now.

From February 6 to June 14, 2026, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami will host “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” a sweeping exhibition that has already captivated crowds in Milan, Paris, and Rome, where it was extended due to overwhelming demand. Miami marks the exhibition’s first and only stop in the United States.

Curated by Florence Müller, with theatrical set design by Agence Galuchat and produced by IMG, the exhibition drops you straight into the world of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana a place where, as Müller says, “magic and fantasy, legend and reality intertwine.” It’s less like walking through a museum and more like wandering through the designers’ imaginations, one immersive room at a time.

An Immersive Love Letter to Italy

More than 300 pieces from both archival and recent collections chart Dolce & Gabbana’s evolution and enduring obsessions: Italian romance, devotion to craft, and a flair for drama. Each space reveals a different facet of their vision – elegant and sensual, yet laced with humor, irreverence, and playfulness. Rather than a straightforward greatest-hits retrospective, the show feels like a lush, visual love letter to Italy. Throughout, you’ll spot references to classical and contemporary art, baroque and Mediterranean architecture, Sicilian folklore and regional traditions, the worlds of opera and ballet, and the sun-drenched glow of “la dolce vita“. True to the exhibition’s title, every detail underscores how ideas move from the heart to the hands, becoming reality through meticulous craftsmanship.

From the Heart to the Hands reimaginged for Miami

For Miami, From the Heart to the Hands has been reimagined specifically for ICA Miami’s expanded home, in conversation with the museum’s focus on contemporary visual culture. The exhibition doesn’t just put couture on a pedestal; it situates Dolce & Gabbana within a broader creative dialogue. Works by contemporary visual artists – including Quayola, Alberto Maria Colombo, Obvious, Vittorio Bonapace, and Felice Limosani – appear throughout, interacting with the garments and accessories. Digital art, new media, and immersive installations amplify the sense that you’re wandering through a living intersection of fashion, art, and technology.

The result lands somewhere between a fashion exhibition, an art installation, and a cinematic fantasy – a richly staged cultural experience for travelers looking to pair Miami’s beaches and nightlife with something a bit more transportive.

If you’re planning a 2026 escape to Miami, or just need the perfect excuse to book one, this exhibition is poised to be one of the city’s best cultural events, offering travelers a layered journey from the heart of Italian style to the vibrant energy of the design district Miami.
