The Summer of Love at Arlo Hotel

It’s hard to believe that 50 years ago this coming weekend the Woodstock Festival took place in Bethel, New York. Though there are many celebrations to commemorate the most important music festival ever (except for the actual recreation of it) one way to celebrate that summer of love and music is at the Arlo Soho Woodstock popup. It’s like the festival (but minus the mud).

Now through September 23, Arlo is paying homage to that uber-famous little event that just wouldn’t quit, in their beautiful courtyard and in the lounge and rooftop of the hotel, complete with vinyl discs, lava lamps, a vibrant mural, and a full, vibrantly colored VW Bug.

Arlo Food and Drinks

So, what did people drink at Woodstock? Probably not what the Arlo pop-up has in store. In partnership with Whistle Pig, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of libations including the Psychedelic Sour, made with Whistle Pig Rye Whiskey, raspberry, rose reduction, absinthe, and lemon, and the Flower Power, a mixture of Whistle Pig Rye Whiskey, dandelion, lime, and tonic. That’s way more fun than sharing a water bottle with 10 people.

The food will also be a helluva lot better than it was at the concert. The menu offers a variety of sushi rolls, including the Sha-na-na-shimi, made with crispy rice balls, big eye tuna, guacamole, and scallions; the Sgt. Pepper Tuna, a spicy tuna roll with avocado, cilantro and fire-roasted salsa; and The Jerry Garcia, a warm cucumber-avocado roll with chipotle tofu sauce and crispy tempura bits. And if you get tired of feeling all groovy you can head to the chic lobby bar or upstairs to the rooftop.

More Events at Arlo

The hotel is currently offering 15% off rates and a complimentary bottle of Rosé for stays through Labor Day. They will also be hosting an “All American BBQ” for Labor Day but it won’t be anything typical. You’ll be treated to eats from Harold’s, lawn games from bespoke retailer Fancy, and a Cornhole competition that may just put your skills to shame. The $50 ticket includes an unlimited BBQ buffet, welcome cocktails, and a raffle entry to win Fancy merch for your next get together. There’s more information here: September 2nd party. In the meantime peace, love and delicious drinks sound good.

What a great way to wind down the summer!
