Elsa Dixon

Born and raised in South Africa, Elsa has lived in many parts of the country, including the private and exclusive Sabie Sand Game Reserve. As an educator, she has written numerous articles, developed curricula and published elementary music books. She moved to the USA in 2002 and worked as a music teacher, traveling over long weekends to nearly all 50 states. On the advice of friends, she started leading custom tours to South Africa and other countries. This evolved to TravelswithElsa LLC, her website and blog and currently, she is a freelance writer and contributor to numerous media outlets. In May 2018 she won 2nd prize in an International Travel News competition and her article appeared both online and in the print edition. A biography of her father, a famous South African comedian, radio personality, and songwriter, has been accepted for publication and the book is launching in November 2018.
