Cleveland Restaurant Week

Cleveland Independents, the largest group of independently-owned restaurants
in the country, is celebrating its sixth annual Cleveland Restaurant Week
now through November 14.  Ninety of the organization’s restaurants are
offering three course, $30 prix fixe menus.  Although the event’s format may
seem similar to that of other major metropolitan areas, Cleveland
Independents’ members see it as reaffirmation of a trend.

In fact, this year’s Cleveland Restaurant Week boasts 20 sponsors, nearly doublelast
year’s amount. “Cleveland has become a dining destination,” says Douglas
Katz, Cleveland Independents’ President and owner of fire food and drink.
“For a city of this size to have so many award-winning chefs is rare.  What
is equally significant is the fact that we have gained such strong community
support.  This event is something positive that makes everyone in Northeast
Ohio excited.”
In the spirit of creating brand identity for Cleveland Restaurant Week, new
visuals have been introduced specifically for the two-week period.  “We
recognized that Restaurant Week in other major cities featured branding
exclusive to that event and decided it was time to step up to the plate”
says Myra Orenstein, Executive Director of Cleveland Independents.  Menus
and real-time reservations through Open Table have also been introduced this
year.
