Nothing makes a New Yorker get out of town faster than a holiday and now that we’re closing in on the most important holidays of the entire year most diehard New Yorkers have their trips just about planned, or close to it. But no matter how many times we’ve done it, we’re not happy unless we get our getaway bags flawlessly packed. And we’ll take advice wherever we can get it. Lucky for us (and no surprise, either) our friends over at LuxuryTravelBible.com are way ahead of the packing game. They were savvy enough to speak with fashion designers Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman of Fyodor Golan who have solved the tricky what to pack question. Well, almost.
As women’s ready to wear designers, Fyodor and Golan regard their collaboration as a little bit of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” They base their designs on opposites and contrasts, e.g. when one is strong, the other is sensitive and vice versa. They design for a woman “who is emotional, expressive and strong; an international person who is not afraid to both explore and show her sensitive and powerful side” – sounds a lot like a TravelSquire woman to us! The folks at LTB posed some interesting questions to the duo.
What can luxury travelers do to look stylish while on holiday?
Wear lots of bright colors.
If you’re in Paris, take a bike cab and let your hair loose. It’s all about trying new things so why not wear a super short dress for a night out dancing on the beach in Thailand, or discover the power of bold colors in a place like Myanmar.

What is the design inspiration for the Fyodor Golan collection?
It’s very expressive and vibrant – electric colors that reflect the energy of the modern youth with a sporty touch. We were thinking a lot about our childhoods and there is a dreamlike feeling in our collection.
