As the popular saying goes, it’s better to give than to receive, but right nowyou can give and receive at a premier southwest Florida resort! Now through September 30, Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, in partnership with four Gulf Coast organizations, is rewarding travelers who give back to the community with the Give & Get Volunteer Program. This new Volun-Tourism program provides guests who spend a portion of their hard-earned vacation time helping others with 15% savings on their stay.

Situated on three miles of pristine white sand beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort is the perfect place for an island escape. With a magnificent new pool, great outdoor dining, a fabulous spa, private golf course, and luxurious rooms, you won’t ever want to leave. But for interested guests, the Marco Island Resort can arrange for you to volunteer at one of four local organizations:

Volunteer for Friends of Rookery Bay by participating in coastal cleanup, renovating the butterfly garden or volunteering during National Estuary Day on September 24 at the Rookery Bay Reserve, one of the few remaining undisturbed mangrove estuaries in North America with 110,000 acres of pristine forest and protected waters, 150 species of birds and many threatened and endangered animals.
Help Habitat for Humanity eliminate homelessness by building affordable housing for all. Upcoming project dates are Aug. 20 and Sept. 17.
Another option is the Greater Marco Family YMCA, which has been offering family-friendly health and wellness programs in the Marco Island community for almost 34 years. Volunteers can help maintain the Y facilities in two-hour shifts.
Finally, volunteers can assist with a variety of everyday tasks in order to help the Marco Island Academy, the island’s first public high school, get ready for its first year of operations.

Additionally, those who post photos or videos from their volun-tourism experience on the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort Facebook page will receive a $25 resort credit for a return trip.
