Ireland Center Stage

Ireland Center Stage

This month we shift our spotlight center-stage on Ireland and, guess what, we got you front row seats. For all you Broadway Babies, you’ll be intrigued to know that Ireland has a rich and long history in theatre. Dating as far back as the 1600’s, Ireland has made numerous contributions in drama, producing legendary writers such as Oscar Wilde. That’s why for avid theatre-goers like you, the Squire’s dug up an Ireland theatre tour that gets a standing ovation. If you’ve never been to the theater in Ireland then you haven’t experienced the country’s rich culture.  Here’s your chance.

The Irish Theatre Tour, courtesy of www.myguideIreland.com, is 7 days of Ireland’s best cities and celebrated theatres. The tour includes six nights in Ireland’s most distinguished hotels (with daily Irish breakfast), and the opportunity to experience the magic of theatre in a way like no other. Theatres like Dublin’s famous Abbey, the Druid Lane, and the Cork Opera House will be showcasing electrifying performances that promise to put you on the edge of your seat.

Why not sample Ireland’s cultural DNA?  One of the first stops is the National Theatre of Ireland, Dublin’s Abbey Theater, opened since 1904 and the literary birthplace of William Butler Yeats and Sean O’ Casey. The Druid Lane Theatre in Galway, founded in 1975, is celebrated as the first professional theatre company in Ireland based outside of Dublin. Many great works and young artists have flourished over the years due to the tremendous support of the Druid. The Cork Opera House is another that should not be missed, with a history stretching back to 1855. The Opera house has been consistent in producing spectacular performances that have gripped audiences of all generations.
