Revamped Tropicana Hotel Brings South Beach Flavor to Las Vegas

You may know Nikki Beach from your last weekend trip to Miami, but did you know that there’s a little bit of South Beach headed to Vegas?  The Tropicana Las Vegas Resort Hotel and Casino has begun the first phase of its $180 million transformation, scheduled for completion this May.

Changes include a redesigned façade, all-new hotel rooms, luxurious suites, new restaurants, a new spa, upgraded fitness center, and launch of the world’s largest Nikki Beach – the internationally renowned beach club and nightclub brand.

The hotel room upgrades have already been completed; with top-notch amenities in warm rooms that recall the breezy, relaxed feel of a beach getaway.   Deluxe rooms are furnished with plantation shutters, a sleek chaise, Euro Top Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress and original artwork from acclaimed Latin artists in addition to an iHome clock radio (with a universal docking station), WiFi, and a 42-inch hi-def TV.

While you anticipate the future opening of Nikki Beach, Café Nikki is open for 24/7 dining on an outdoor deck with lush gardens, overlooking waterfalls.  Café Nikki features buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the famous Sunday Amazing Brunch.  Happy Hour is every Monday – Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, with open patio seating, live music/DJ, $5 specialty drinks, a specialty ceviche and sushi bar.

For fine dining, the hotel also offers Biscayne Steak, Sea & Wine, which opened last August, featuring prime cuts and fresh seafood as well a 200 bottle wine list with wines from around the world.  For those with a Trop Plus Players Card membership (offering advantages like player benefits and discounts, free hotel room upgrades and invitations to special events), a Four Course Tasting Menu and Wine Pairing is offered at only $39.99 per person.

A South Beach Marketplace is in the works, to be located off the casino floor adjacent to the Tropicana hotel pool and Café Nikki.  The Marketplace will feature casual food and drink shops, such as Pellegrino Pizza, Asian noodle shops, self-serve frozen yogurt/gelato and a 24-hour Starbucks.   Also up and coming for the summer is the new spa; approximately 9500 square feet, overlooking the beautiful hotel pool and offering services such as a beauty salon, relaxation lounge, steam shower and treatment rooms.
