Billed as“a sleek, technology forward, USB chargeable razor” ShaveTech is no larger than a smart phone and can be charged using any worldwide standard USB port. It’s a must-have grooming accessory for any savvy man on-the-go. Its sleek, lightweight design is trimmed in brushed silver and it’s available in a lustrous black or shiny white and comes in a sporty box for at home storage with a soft black pouch for slipping into your carry-on or gym bag or even in your glove compartment.
Once charged—overnight for first use and four hours for every 30 minutes of use thereafter—ShaveTech relieves you of the hassle of finding an electrical outlet, and helps keep you lookin’ good all day and night should you need a last minute shave for that important late day meeting or drinks and dinner with a friend. And the lifetime expectancy of the battery and shaving head is about 300 times that of normal charge and recharge cycles, and1,800 to 2,700 minutes of normal use, respectively. Also, the company avows that ShaveTech is not produced using any dangerous substances typically used in the manufacturing of today’s electronic devices, making it 100% safe to use.
The true test was when I gave it to my boyfriend, someone who can’t stand to go more than 24 hours beyond his morning grooming routine before thinking he looks like he’s been camping for a week. He found the sharp blades and fast vibration shave action to be as powerful and effective as a traditional plug-in electric razor. Cleaning the ShaveTech is easy, too, by simply removing the outer foil hood.
ShaveTech sells for about $30 (the USB AC power adaptor is an additional $7) and currently is only available online with a list of select retailers to come soon. It could just become the new standard in power grooming.
