Say Cheese!

New York City cheese lovers rejoice.  Starting April 16 you’ll be well on your way to reaching your Nirvana. Welcome the Second Annual Cheese Week 2018, the ultimate cheese adventurer’s delight!

Cheese Week 2018, conceived two years ago by Jean-François Hesse and produced by Transversal FR, has released the schedule of events planned for NYC to fete all things cheese. This year’s sponsors include major retailers, wine and spirits purveyors, cheese shops and producers in addition to restaurants and hotels. Cheese Week takes place in Paris and NYC and plans to expand to additional markets.

Activities include everything from cheese classes to tastings at hot spots throughout NYC including Bloomingdale’s, Dean & Deluca, the French Cheese Board, Zabar’s, Murray’s Cheese and the Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel. “Cheese is one food that brings people together, a common denominator that is enjoyed by everyone. The response from attendees last year was so encouraging and we’ve been able to grow this event because of our sponsors,” said Hesse.

Highlights include: demos, tastings and a party at Bloomingdale’s newly remodeled Home floor in the flagship store on Lexington Ave., a specialty cocktail being served at the Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel, classes at both Murray’s Cheese and the French Cheese Board, tastings of wines and spirits with selected cheese pairings at Murray’s Cheese, and demos from local cheese producers from New York and Connecticut at Dean & Deluca. Their Cheese Monger in Soho will make fondue, and there will be events at Le District on Liberty Street and tastings at Zabar’s.
