Spring has finally sprung in New York … birds chirping, flowers blooming, people smiling, the whole nine yards. I love to travel this time of year and love dressing for it, too – designer shades, a chic (wrinkle free) outfit and a fabulous pair of comfortable shoes. Whether on a short business trip to L.A., a leisurely weekend with the family in Virginia Beach, or a vacation with the girls in Mexico, nothing makes me feel better than knowing that my look is on point. Except knowing that my frequent flyer miles account is growing, that is!
A fashion girl at heart and by profession, I’m slightly obsessed with what to wear on trips. What do I wear on the flight to LA when I’m meeting a client at the airport? What do I wear in Virginia Beach that registers cute and ready for the country? What do I wear on the beach in Mexico that’s rockin’ when I post my Facebook photos?
I recently found the perfect accessory to make every look pop and maybe you can hear the loud sigh of one very happy fashionista. It’s from Kelle Miles. A “globetrotting, fashion loving maven” with a background in fashion styling, Miles designs bold, colorful scarves that I’ve been swooning over since first laying eyes on them. My absolute favorite is the Alexander. This work of fashion art is right on trend this season and perhaps I’m even wearing it a bit more than I should. Made of viscose and soft as silk, the red, black and blue exotic leopard print sets the style tone for any climate. It’s long enough to wrap around the neck twice for that bohemian look and wide enough to cover the head (and wrap around the neck) for the full on Jackie O effect.
It’s priced at $125, available at www.kellemiles.com and worth every penny.
