The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali ended 2021 on a high note. The property celebrated the completion of a three-year, $120 million transformation and a re-imagined wing portraying aspects of Hawaiian culture. Called “Hōkūpa‘a,” after the North Star, the 217-room luxury tower is a star in its own right. To start, the oceanfront side of this property contains The Lānai at Hōkūpa‘a, a special enclave that is only accessible to guests staying in this wing. There, on the tower’s second floor, they can begin each day with a breakfast of small bites, a selection of artisan, farm-to-table eats made with seasonal ingredients and fruits.

The Lanai

In the Hawaiian language, a “lanai”refers to a roofed and open-sided space such as a veranda or patio. Westin’s The Lānai reflects that definition with the far left side of the interior having a view of adjacent Ka’anapali Beach and the infinity pool.

The Lānai also has a bar and lounge, where guests can have personalized beverage tastings with the resident mixologist. They can also learn more about Hawaiian culture by partaking in various activities on offer such as lei po‘o (flower crown) making, ukulele lessons and ulana niu (coconut weaving). Additionally, there are other demonstrations take place throughout the Westin property.

Sleep in a Luxurious Oasis

Guest rooms at Hōkūpa‘a are also a luxurious oasis. Their relaxing color scape reflects the natural elements of sand, ocean and sky plus they feature panoramic balconies with ocean views.

In addition to having a 1,400-square-foot penthouse suite, the tower’s Suite 288, for special occasions, goes even further. This extravagant accommodation holds an entertaining area and an expansive rooftop terrace with a private hot tub and lounge with outdoor dining an option, bookable by calling the property directly.

The Hōkūpa‘a tower also contains the 24/7 WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio and the Heavenly Spa by Westin, the latter having eight treatment rooms and an oceanfront outdoor lānai with a plunge pool and relaxation area.

In keeping with Westin’s fitness amenities, the brand’s RUNWestin (™) program presents a scenic three-mile running map for guests. Daily fitness classes and personalized training are also available. So are activities ranging from biking to surfing.
