A Desert Wellness Experience

Frequently named one of the best spas in Scottsdale, the Well & Being Spa at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is an oasis in the desert, a tranquil escape that captures the essence of the southwest. From the rugged mountain views which you can enjoy from the rooftop pool, to the ambience of the inner courtyard which is inspired by the red rock canyons and the hidden Havasupai Falls of the Grand Canyon, guests indulge in a full day of relaxation while luxuriating in an environment inspired by the desert.

A Refreshing Welcome

The first thing you’ll notice as you step into the lobby of the Spa is the change in temperature. The cool, slightly humid air refreshes you, a welcome relief from the hot, dry air outside. You can feel the difference on your skin and it’s almost instinctual to take a few breaths and immediately start to unwind. Overarching soft neutrals in the décor lend themselves to this desert environment. Make sure to pour yourself a complimentary glass of prickly pear lemonade at check-in, a southwestern twist on a welcome drink.

Desert Inspired Interior

The focal point here is an inviting glass-roofed atrium with wood and stone accents, hung with slings for the aerial yoga classes and set with tables for guests to enjoy something from the spa cuisine menu. Down the hall to the treatment areas and full-service salon, cozy couches crowd around a fireplace in the waiting area close to a fitness center with complimentary snack station.

Changing rooms are down a set of stairs (elevator available) past a waterfall embedded in the wall. The tinkling and splashing sounds of water mixed with the soft Native American flute soundtrack encourage you to leave your stress behind. Decorated in a palette of rust, tan, and brown that mirrors the natural landscape outside, this area give way to a large, circular room with a domed roof which is full of amenities to entice you to relax before or after your treatment. A Jacuzzi and cold plunge pool are focal points here, along with a Swiss shower, a eucalyptus scented inhalation room, and both dry sauna and steam room.

Enticing Waterfalls

Outside a co-ed grotto with a waterfall pool is also modeled after the beautiful Havasupai Falls. Stand beneath one of 3 waterfalls and let the pressure release tension from your neck and shoulders. The landscape architecture is a mix of red rock stone and Zen-like gardens, almost as if you’re in a secluded desert canyon. Climb a set of stairs and you’ll emerge from the desert to a rooftop oasis with a shimmering pool, palm trees, multiple cabanas, and a bar that serves healthy food from the spa’s kitchen.

Rejuvenating Treatments

The Well & Being Spa offers an extensive menu of massages, facials, body wraps and specialty treatments. Aside from their signature Journey massage, the customizable aromatherapy massage or a pink Himalayan crystal salt hot stone massage are excellent choices to ease sore muscles and soothe away tension. Or indulge in one of the body treatments such as the Havasupai Falls Rejuvenation experience, which begins with a sage smudging and brings you through several relaxing stages including a soak, massage, salt scrub, scalp massage and herbal wrap. There’s also a Desert Botanical Facial that uses the indigenous ingredients of prickly pear cactus and aloe to nourish and moisturize your skin.
