What does travel look like when LGBTQ+ friends and straight allies travel together? A new company thinks it looks pretty fabulous. VACAYA, the first, adults-only LGBTQ+ travel company to launch in decades kicked off its inaugural season this summer with a full-charter cruise on the Celebrity Summit.
VACAYA’s research has found that travelers today want to vacation with their friends and family, regardless of sexual orientation. On their website, they’ve even designed a section welcoming straight allies: “If you open your mind to the rainbow of fun that can be had in the world, you may even find yourself the life of the party. That’s the spirit of VACAYA.”
Next, a Full-Resort Takeover
Next, VACAYA has planned a full-resort takeover of the luxury UNICO 20°87° Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico and you’re invited. “Traveling with VACAYA is all about being completely comfortable in your own skin, no matter where you fall on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Whether you’re single, coupled, black, white, skinny, thick, or even straight, you’ll easily find a welcoming tribe,” VACAYA states as part of their mission.
The inclusive party takes over UNICO 20°87° from October 27 to November 2, 2019, and is planning on full-out celebrations of Halloween and Day of the Dead. The programming includes pool parties, theme dances, costume events and, of course, all the amenities of the UNICO brand. The resort features five distinct restaurants, endless top-shelf cocktails, the Esencia Spa and exclusive tours designed to connect guests to the rich culture of the region.

VACAYA is completing its inaugural season with a 7 or 14-day European river cruise visiting the famed Christmas market cities this December and a summer Arctic cruise circumnavigating Iceland in August 2020.
